SPECIALIST BIOMECHANICS COACH
I have now qualified as a Specialist Biomechanics Coach. It’s been a long but very worthwhile journey. As you have all realised the classes are built on movement through the kinetic chain, the flow and energy within the sessions relies heavily on the function of your body, now with the preparation and assessment that I am able to provide, you are all gaining a deeper understanding of your own mechanics and how to focus on your strengths and weaknesses.
WHY SHOULD YOU BE SCREENED?
Over time we have evolved, always on our feet either tending crops or hunting wild animals. Now with the advent of tv, computers and desk jobs we are sitting down more than ever before in our history. According to research, on average people sit down for 9.3 hours a day, even more time than we spend sleeping (on average 7.7 hours). Our bodies weren’t built for that and it is beginning to take its toll. Often the body is merely compensating for intrinsic biomechanical faults that may have evolved over the years. The more we practice functional tasks or movements, when the body is locked in asymmetry the more we have to compensate and the risk of injury increases. I can help you ‘iron out’ those areas of dysfunction and encourage you to move more functionally to increase your range of movement and decrease your chance of injury.

MEDIAN NERVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE
Do you experience tingling or tightness within the arm and fingers? If so you will benefit from this simple technique. The median nerve runs down the arm into the first three fingers and can become inhibited if muscles in the shoulder are in spasm. Watch the link below to learn how to reduce these symptoms.
SMALL GROUP SESSIONS
Would you like to share your screen with a friend? Throughout November I am holding ‘small group screen sessions’. With a maximum of four clients in each group we will gradually work through the screens beginning with the pelvis and move onto spine, shoulder, knees and feet during the proceeding weeks. Each week we will work on mobilising as well as releasing the areas that you prove positive for dysfunction.
At the end of the four weeks you will have a list of exercises suitable for you to practice as and when the symptoms arise.
If you are keen to learn how to reduce pain either in your back, shoulder or legs and want to allow your body the freedom it deserves please let me know.
IMOVEFREELY Charity class @ HAMPSHIRE CENTRE COURT
Hampshire Centre court hosted a Fitness Fiasco day in aid of Ovarian Cancer on Saturday 26th October. I taught imovefreely and 20 people learnt release techniques to keep their body functioning and moving more freely.
At the beginning of the class one client offered to have her leg length measured – her left leg was almost 1 cm shorter than the right – the aim was to show that by the end of the session her leg length discrepancy may have altered by releasing muscles within the pelvis throughout the class.
We worked on the pelvis, spine and sciatic and median nerve and at the end of the class we measured her legs – big gasps all round, her legs were almost the same length!!!!!
So if you would like to understand more about this program and arrange a small class or group session do let me know.
